DR. TIMOTHY OELTMANN, M.D.

Dr. Timothy Oeltmann is originally from Nashville, Tennessee where he obtained his medical degree from Vanderbilt University Medical School.  He completed his residency training at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton and flight surgery training in Pensacola, Florida.

 

Dr. Oeltmann has 19 years experience in family medicine with special interest in aviation and executive medicine.  Prior to his medical career, Dr. Oeltmann served in The United States Marine Corps where he flew Cobra helicopters for more than 12 years accumulating more than 2,000 flight hours in the AH1-W, UH1-N, A4, FA-18, and Presidential VH-3 aircraft.  He received an Air Medal for aerial combat and service as a dual designated pilot and physician during Operation Iraqi Freedom. In 2007, he was the recipient of the Richard E. Luehrs Operational Flight Surgeon of the Year Award. Dr. Oeltmann was the first physician selected to serve Marine Barracks Washington, D.C., and physician to the Commandant of the Marine Corps. He most recently served with Marine One and the White House Medical Office where he earned his Presidential Service Badge in 2015.

He is currently a member of the American Board of Family Medicine and is an Aeromedical Examiner for the Federal Aviation Administration.  He also serves on the Childhelp Greater Washington Area Advisory Board.

Dr. Oeltmann resides in the District of Columbia with his wife and 2 sons where he enjoys coaching ice hockey.
